On October 5,
2006, we purchased our lot at 118 Glenwood Court in Heritage
Village. We had been searching for "the perfect lot" for well
over a year and, out of the blue, this lot had a "For Sale" sign on
it. We had been looking at another lot just down the street
and had, actually, looked at every lot in the neighborhood.
But....this was "THE LOT".....on the only cul de sac in the
neighborhood....over an acre....and very quiet. It was just
what we had been looking for. We bought it and off we
went. The adventure had begun! These are pictures of the
lot when we first bought it.
I had already been looking at house plans
for quite some time and had the "New House Fever!" So, after
searching through over 2000 house plans, we had found what we
thought to be "the perfect house!" We were very excited.
It had everything we had been looking for and fit our taste very
well. At that point, we put that decision behind us and moved on to the
next task at hand.....getting Don ready to leave for China (but,
that's another story).
On January 6, 2007, Don boarded the big bird
to travel to Mainland China, where he would spend the next year.
During that time, I was working diligently on getting our current
house updated and ready to sell. The plan was, by the way, for
me to have everything done in the current house so that, when Don
came home in January, 2008.....he could rest up for a couple of
months and then we would be ready to rock 'n' roll! Part of
the plan worked as it was supposed to....the part about me getting
things done in the current house....the only thing left to do is
replace the flooring and we are still not finished with that (it's
February 15, 2009).
